Hello Friends,
Happy New Year! I hope 2026 is already offering you a little spark of inspiration and that you all enjoyed a lovely holiday season. I wanted to kick off the year by letting you all be the first to know about a new project that’s been in development for several years.
Musicals Without Music, a play written and directed by Peter Filichia, is now in production at Flipping The Script Productions! Peter, who many of you will recognize as a sharp theatrical voice with a long history of blending humor and heart, and I have been looking forward to sharing this news for several weeks, and we hope we can count on your support to give this show legs.
Musicals Without Music is exactly what it sounds like; The show explores what happens after the music stops. Through a series of funny, fast-moving sketches - think smart, SNL-style humor plus Broadway theatrics - we follow characters once the curtain has come down and the applause has faded.
Peter has a way of honoring musical theatre while also poking at it, questioning it, and celebrating the wonderful spaces it lives in. Working with him has been on my wish list for a long time, and I couldn’t be more excited.
This piece has had a bit of a journey already, including a past reading with a different cast. Since then, the show has continued to develop, including some rewrites! Now, it feels ready for its next chapter—and I can’t wait to share more with you as we get closer.
